TikTok Marketing Tips
The statistic heard ‘round the world…TikTok was the most visited site on the internet in 2021! If you are still holding out on launching your business’s TikTok because “it isn’t your audience”, you’re wrong! With that level of internet traffic, there is officially a space for every demographic on TikTok.
Think your business is too niche or “too boring” to gain a following on TikTok? Wrong again! With communities like #moneytok, a hashtag all about investing #hacks, debt education, credit card recommendations, and saving tips, there’s a community for everything from finance to foodies.
We’ve put together some of our TikTok marketing best practices for different industries with vastly different audiences. Get inspired for how you could be reaching target audiences, selling your product or service, building engaged communities, and getting customer feedback all on TikTok.
Nonprofits
Content for a cause! TikTok is the perfect platform to create video content that explains the WHY behind your brand and the impact you’re making in local and larger communities. Introduce your team and put personalities to faces to create strong connections with your target audience.
Retail
People don’t like to be sold to, but they do like to be entertained. Join in on a current TikTok trend while promoting your product and create your own spin on it! Businesses are taking themselves less seriously on social media and people respond well to authenticity. Our favorite example is Stanley Steemer Carpet Cleaning @stanleysteemerofficial. What’s “fun” about carpet cleaning, right? They joined in on the #oddlysatsifying hashtag by filming their vacuum methodically moving across a carpet, revealing a brighter carpet streak by streak. They created a video that’s entertaining to watch, AND showcased how well their vacuums work!
Legal Services
Have you seen lawyer Mike Mandell @lawbymike on TikTok? He’s a lawyer creating funny, silly, yet thoughtful content with over 6 MILLION followers! If you’re struggling to find ways to make your business’s content fun and entertaining on TikTok, focus instead on making it HELPFUL! People go to TikTok first for entertainment, and second for #lifehacks. Offer short, specific legal advice for common life scenarios. Using uncomplicated, easy-to-understand language offers VALUE to people who may otherwise not know how to approach seeking legal advice.
